Alen T Mitchell :: Group Chairman
Alen Mitchell was born in Dumfries, and moved to Fife when his father, the eponymous founder of the Group, commenced trading as building and public works contractors from premises in Kirkcaldy. Alen graduated in Civil Engineering from Edinburgh University and worked with a national civil engineering contractor for a number of years, prior to joining the family firm and eventually becoming Managing Director. Alen still resides in Kirkcaldy with his wife Helen and daughter Claire.

Graeme Mitchell :: Operations Director
Graeme Mitchell was born in Dumfries in November 1955 and moved to Kirkcaldy at 2 1/2 years old. Graeme was educated at Kirkcaldy West Primary School, Kirkcaldy High School, Edinburgh University and Kirkcaldy Technical College. Graeme is married to Barbara with three sons Jonathan, Ian and Ben. Graeme joined the family firm in 1978, starting in the factory priming windows, and working in drawing office for several years before becoming a site agent and on to being a Company Director.

Iain Innes :: Managing Director
Bringing almost 25 years of residential property experience to his new role, Iain has a proven track record within the house building industry. He began his career as a quantity surveyor and has worked at director level for several leading house building companies including Beazer, Persimmon and Stewart Milne, the latter for which he was a Group Board director. Iain is a past Chairman of Homes for Scotland (HFS), the industry body which represents the country’s home building industry and has been a Director of HFS since its inception. Iain said: “I am pleased to be joining Thomas Mitchell Homes at a very exciting time. “My remit is to grow the house building business significantly over the next three years and to ensure that the Thomas Mitchell brand is developed and maximized throughout central and western Scotland. The company has now embarked on a period of sustained, planned growth and this role will offer me a fresh new challenge. I’m very much looking forward to working alongside the existing Thomas Mitchell team and helping the business move forward.”

Ken Hunter :: Planning & Construction Director
Ken Hunter, Planning and Construction Director, has over 30 years experience in the construction industry. His background as a Civil Engineer involved in a variety of local and national infrastructure projects in earlier years has supported and benefited his approach to design and construction in the private development sector over the past 19 years with the Thomas Mitchell Group. Ken has enjoyed being part of the development of the Group over the years and is looking forward to his continued involvement in the future growth of the Company.

Theresa Barbour :: Sales & Marketing Director
Thomas Mitchell Homes is delighted to announce the appointment of Theresa Barbour as sales and marketing director for the private housing division. Theresa will be responsible for all areas of the sales and marketing function including supporting the next phase of the company’s growth strategy rolling out across the central belt. With 20 years of experience, Theresa has a proven track record within the house building industry. She managed the sales and marketing discipline for Stewart Milne and latterly was sales and marketing director at Tulloch Homes. Theresa said: “I am delighted to join Thomas Mitchell Homes at a challenging and exciting time. My remit is to drive sales and marketing by ensuring that our targets are achieved. This offers me a fresh challenge and an opportunity to use my skills and experience, complementing the Thomas Mitchell team and supporting the next phase of growth for the company.”

Bob Macarthur :: Development Director
Thomas Mitchell Homes has appointed Bob Macarthur as Development Director for its private housing division, who will be responsible for obtaining planning consents and new house design initiatives. Bringing almost 25 years of house building experience to his new role, Bob has a successful track record within the house building industry. An Architect, Bob worked in various disciplines before becoming a specialist in house building, Bob has also worked at director level in the past for several leading house building companies. Bob will be responsible for creating an entire new portfolio of house designs to meet the needs and aspirations of clients as well as new building regulation changes and to incorporate new sustainability initiatives. Iain Innes, Managing Director of Thomas Mitchell Homes added: “Bob is bringing a wealth of experience and a fresh outlook to the company and we are delighted that he has joined the team. As we implement our expansion plans across western and east central Scotland, Bob’s expertise will ensure that we continue to meet our customers’ expectations whilst satisfying all legislative requirements in relation to house design.”
