Healthcare in the Community :: Design & Build
For a number of years, the Thomas Mitchell Group have been involved in the provision of Nursing Homes and Doctors Surgeries, carried out either on a design and build basis or as designer, manufacturer and supplier of the timber frame kit to other building contractors.
Below are a number of projects that Thomas Mitchell Homes have completed. A number of further projects are in the early stages of development (projects enabled through land sourcing and aquisition, as well as funding and health board consultation).
This 60 bed nursing home on the outskirts of St Andrews was completed in 2004 for a private client. External Architects, Stuart Carr of Inglis Carr were responsible for the design & planning submissions, working in conjunction with our own in house design department to achieve full building control and all working details.
Arthurstone Medical Centre, Dundee was opened in 2004, and was constructed as a design and build project by our in house design and construction divisions. The building is an interesting form of two identical wings for separate doctors practices, served by a communal central administration central core.
Newton le Willows, near Manchester is the location for this 60 bed nursing home. Thomas Mitchell Homes were the kit supplier to a local contracting business who have undertaken a number of projects using our timber frame systems.
This new Care Home was built on a design and build basis for private clients on a site in Auchtermuchty, Fife. The site incorporated a number of design elements which included a development of private housing and a new Health Centre for the local doctors practice.
