Working with Housing Associations :: Design & Build
Thomas Mitchell Builders carry out a large number of design and build projects for Housing Associations or their development divisions, either working with our own in-house design division, or in conjunction with external Architects. We regularly introduce development opportunities to Housing Associations, either on our own land or on land which we are developing as part of a larger partnership agreement.
Thomas Mitchell Builders have worked with Horizon Housing Association in providing barrier free accommodation integrated within larger private housing developments. Here, Gordon Brown, Chancellor of the Exchequer, is seen raising a barrier to officially open the Thomas Mitchell Homes / Horizon Housing Association project at Kelty in Fife.
On behalf of Kingdom Housing Association, Thomas Mitchell Homes were delighted to be awarded the programme for regeneration of the High Street, Buckhaven, in Fife. The project was awarded after a design competition on which we employed Hackland & Dore of Edinburgh as external Architects responsible for design and planning permission, while our own in-house design department were responsible for obtaining the Building Warrant. The total development of 32 properties of 1, 2 & 3 bedroom terraced villas was constructed 12 weeks ahead of programme using our timber frame system.

Thomas Mitchell Homes have recently completed the build of these superb three storey flats (shown on the right) in Scott Street Perth. The project was completed for the Perthshire Housing Association.
